Stuart Little is a children's novel from 1946, by Elwyn Brooks White, who was also the author of the more famous "Charlotte's Web". However Stuart Little is a bit of a period piece, rather than a true classic. Stuart Little is a talking mouse who lives in New York City with his human parents, older brother George, and Snowbell the cat.
